The event for Visiting Campuses of Well-known Pharmaceutical Companies from the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Was Held in GDPU
In response to the deployments of the Party Central Committee, the State Council, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Government to enhance employment and entrepreneurship of college students through “visiting entrepreneurs to expand positions for employment", vigorous communication between graduates and employers, and the cooperation and exchange of schools with local enterprises and research institutes at a higher level, the GDPU together with the Guangzhou Sino-Singapore Knowledge City Development and Construction Office, launched the "Famous Pharmaceutical Enterprises in the Knowledge City Enter the Campus" activity on May 11th, inviting the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Trading Center and famous pharmaceutical enterprises in the Knowledge City to hold a symposium chaired by President Zhai Lixiang, on school-enterprise cooperation and a campus recruitment fair, , whose participants include officials from the university's Party and government office, science and technology department, development planning department, human resources department, academic affairs department, student affairs department, employment guidance center, and asset management company.
On behalf of the school, Zhai, extended a warm welcome to the following leaders among the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City(SSGKC) Development and Construction Office, Guangzhou Intellectual Property Exchange Center and representatives of various enterprises, and introduced the development of the school from the aspects of school development history, faculty, teaching and research, and discipline construction at this symposium,. “This year coincided with the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, is a key year to promote the high-quality development of high-level pharmaceutical universities with distinctive characteristics”, Zhai said, hoping that all sectors of society will continue to support the reform and development of the university, further promoting school-local cooperation, school-enterprise cooperation, deepening pragmatic cooperation in talent training, scientific research, social services, etc., and working together for the practice of Chinese-style modernization in Guangdong. The GDPU will take full advantage of "go out" and "bring in" on Guangdong's high-quality development, underpinning the opening-up of GDPU for the broader channels and fields of foreign exchanges and cooperation, and through these ways, improving the efficiency of serving the society.
Appreciating the school for its warm reception, Li Yituo, Level 3 Researcher of SSGKC Development and Construction Office, made an introduction of the positioning of these two sectors, as well as their development history, industrial layout, planning prospects, talent needs and so forth, and recognize the school's contribution to the development of regional economic and development of society, medicine and health over these years. He claimed, “the SSGKC and Construction Office will facilitate exchanges and cooperation with the university to pool the superior resources of both sides, especially the location advantage of the high concentration of biomedical industry in the Knowledge City, strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the construction of innovation platforms, transformation of scientific research achievements, joint training and use of talents, etc., and welcoming leaders, teachers and students of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University to SSGKC”.
At the symposium, the transformation of the school's scientific research achievements, the implementation of the graduation destination of the 2023 graduates, and the school's health industry industry-university-research incubation base have been respectively introduced by the relevant responsible comrades of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the school, the Career Guidance Center, and the Asset Management Company Limited. Subsequently, the participants had in-depth communication on job requirements, talent training, and scientific research project cooperation. Next, the herbarium of traditional Chinese medicine in GDPU was visited by participating leaders and guests.
It was reported that a total of 18 companies in this event provided 166 positions, concerning the laboratory technicians, QC microbial analysts, product administrators, pharmaceutical analysis/preparation researchers, and R&D QA for graduates of the school in 2023 through the combination of on-site graduate meetings and online recruitment, involving the School of Pharmacy, of Life Science and Biopharmaceuticals, of Chemical Engineering, of Clinical Medicine, of Public Health and of other majors. This event optimized the employment resources of graduates to promote fuller and higher quality employment of graduates.
