According to the "Report on the Evaluation of Chinese Universities and Disciplines (2019-2020)", our university ranks 8th, 9th, and 10th nationwide in the fields of Pharmaceutical Preparations, Traditional Chinese Medicine Pharmaceuticals, and Pharmaceutical Analysis, respectively. Within the province, we hold the 1st, 2nd, and 1st positions in these disciplines. Our institution offers thirteen undergraduate programs, including Pharmacy, Clinical Medicine, Pharmaceutical Preparations, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, which are recognized as first-class programs at the national and provincial levels. Additionally, we have three national-level first-class undergraduate courses, namely Pharmaceutical Analysis, Traditional Chinese Medicine Analysis, and Health Statistics, along with nineteen provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses, including Internal Medicine.

Currently, we have a diverse student body comprising over 24,000 full-time undergraduate, graduate, and international students. Our university's academic strengths lie in the fields of pharmacy and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, which form the core of our pharmaceutical and health science disciplines. Our Clinical Medicine discipline has consistently ranked in the top 1% of the global ESI ranking since 2017, while Chemistry, Pharmacology and Toxicology achieved this distinction in 2020, and Agricultural Science in 2021. In the fourth round of discipline assessment, our Pharmacy discipline secured the 21st position nationally. Furthermore, our Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine discipline was ranked 4th in the 2021 Academic Ranking of Chinese Universities.

We take pride in our seven key provincial and ministerial disciplines, including one Guangdong Provincial Pinnacle Discipline, three Guangdong Provincial Advantageous Key Disciplines, one Guangdong Provincial Key Cultivation Discipline, and two key disciplines designated by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In recognition of our commitment to academic excellence, we were designated as a doctoral degree-granting unit in need of strengthening in November 2021.
