Professor Yang Quan's team's research achievements support the comprehensive utilization of cinnamon resources in Guangdong
Recently, Professor Yang Quan and his research team from the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Industrial Technology System Guangzhou Comprehensive Experimental Station at our university have made a breakthrough in the comprehensive utilization of cinnamon resources. Their latest research findings have been published in the prestigious journal "FOOD CHEM," which is classified as a top-tier journal by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
This study utilized high-resolution MS/MS molecular networking analysis to reveal the basic classes of small molecule chemical components in the waste extract of cinnamon oil. For the first time, the research team reported the structures of 101 small molecule chemical components in the water extract of cinnamon and conducted preliminary screening and evaluation of their biological activities. The research findings will provide scientific evidence for the upgrading and comprehensive utilization of the cinnamon industry in Guangdong Province.
