National First-class Courses and 6 Provincial-level Course of Ideological and Political Reform Demonstration Projects Have been awarded for Our University

In recent days, the Ministry of Education released the "Public Announcement on the Recognition Results of the Second Batch of National First-Class Undergraduate Courses" (2021 application). Guangdong Pharmaceutical University(GDPU) is expected to be recognized with 2 courses as national first-class courses. Among them, one offline first-class course is "Internal Medicine Nursing" (Leader: Tianhui, other key members of the team: Meibiqi, Zhengjing, Liyingying, Lanyutao), and one social practice first-class course is "Practice Teaching of Ideological and Political Theory Course" (Leader: Liu Xiaolong, other key members of the team: Zhang Juyong, Zhu Baiwei, Zeng Ping, Liu Jiuling). Currently, our university has a total of 42 national and provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses.

At the same time, the Department of Education of Guangdong Province issued a notice on the "Publication of the List of Demonstration Projects for Ideological and Political Reform of Undergraduate University Courses in Guangdong Province for the Year 2022" (Guangdong Education Correspondence School [2023] No. 14). GDPU has been awarded 6 provincial-level demonstration projects for ideological and political reform of undergraduate courses, including 1 demonstration team (Ideological and Political Teaching Team of Health Inspection and Quarantine Major, Leader: Bai Yan), 2 demonstration courses (Pharmaceutical Analysis, Leader: Gao Xiaoxia; Traditional Chinese Medicine Analysis, Leader: Ge Yuewei), and 3 demonstration classes (Chapter 15 of "Java Web Programming", Leader: Zhou Sujuan; Chapter 1 and 2 of "Physiology", Leader: Wang Sheng; Chapter 1 of "Traditional Chinese Medicine Processing", Leader: Wang Guangning). Currently, our university has 25 provincial-level course ideological and political reform demonstration projects.

We have always prioritized the cultivation of virtue and talent as our fundamental mission. The integration of ideological and political education within our curriculum is a key strategy for constructing a high-quality talent cultivation system and enhancing the  "three-wide education" concept to enhance the overall quality of students.  To this end, we have formulated the "Work Plan for Comprehensive Promotion of Ideological and Political Education at Guangdong Pharmaceutical University" and implemented a range of measures to deepen the reform of ideological and political education. Our goal is to seamlessly integrate professional education with ideological and political education, ensuring the simultaneous transmission of knowledge and values. These endeavors comprehensively enhance the effectiveness of talent cultivation.

Moreover, we are consistently focused on refining our high-level talent cultivation system, with a specific emphasis on "Pharmaceutical Sciences and Health." We place great importance on course development, considering it the primary platform for delivering our curriculum. By continually advancing course development, establishing high-quality course resources, fostering teaching innovation, and incorporating the outcomes of teaching reforms into course construction, we are steadfast in our pursuit of creating a nationally, provincially, and institutionally renowned course system. We strike to provide exceptional courses and enhance the university's capacity and quality in talent cultivation.
