On the morning of May 8th, Professor Wang Yu Zhuo delivered a keynote presentation titled "Toward a Cancer-Fear Free World" at our university's 246th "Distinguished Teachers, Scholars, and Doctors" lecture series held at the International Conference Center in the Guangzhou Guangzhou University Town Campus. Professor Wang, a renowned expert in the field of prostate cancer research, was invited as part of an academic exchange program. The event was attended by Vice President Yang Quan, Minister Fan Hui of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Deputy Minister Lan Tao of the Department of Foreign Cooperation and Exchange, Dean Zhang Rongxin of the School of Life Sciences, Vice Dean Shao Hongwei of the School of Life Sciences, as well as faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduate students from various departments, totaling more than 300 participants. Vice President Yang Quan presided over the event.

During the presentation, Professor Wang Yu Zhuo provided unique insights into his understanding of global challenges in cancer research and prevention strategies. He discussed various aspects such as clinical topics, the construction of tumor animal models, and key molecular mechanisms underlying tumor occurrence and metastasis. With a clear and comprehensive approach, he elaborated on the interaction between tumor cells and immune cells, as well as the growth environment of tumor cells. He shared his thoughts on how to identify research topics based on clinical observations and provided detailed answers to questions raised by attending experts. The atmosphere during the academic session was vibrant, and the faculty and students were deeply inspired by the presentation.

After the lecture, Vice President Yang Quan presented the Certificate of Appreciation to Professor Wang on behalf of GDPU, our school.

Subsequently, accompanied by Vice President Li Jincheng, Professor Wang Yu Zhuo and his delegation visited the Guangzhou University Town Health Industry Incubation Base to learn about its development history and achievements.
